In my Microprocessor System class, we need to know how microcontroller works and we have to practice to use it. But as a student, it’s difficult to find a built-up microcontroller hardware. It’s also often too costly for students to afford.
An answer for this problem: a simulator. EdSim51 is a simulator software for 8051 family microcontroller. It can be used for basic understanding in 8051 microcontroller. There are some virtual peripherals such as ADC and DAC, 7-segment display, and a 4×3 keypad. There’s also a text editor to write codes and assemble them.
EdSim51 is Java based, so you must have Java installed in your computer before you can run this application.
